On Monday morning (the 28th of March) I didn’t have any plans for that day. Untill I read a tweet from Jim Bakkum (singer and musicalstar). He and his manager (Tim van Rongen) came up with an action. The first 50 people who would sent an email to Masterpiece Management could win two free tickets for Enrique Iglesias concert in Ahoy Rotterdam with supporting act Jim Bakkum.
I can imagine that being a supporting act for such a big star is very difficult. But Jim did a great job. He opened the show acoustic with guitarplayer Anthony Wongsokarijo and percussionist Femke Krone. He sang ‘Rolling In The Deep’ by Adele and ‘Use Somebody’ by the Kings of Leon. Jim also sang is own songs, including ‘Doe Dit, Doe Dat’ (my personal favorite) and his new single ‘Feel Your Love’.
Wow, and then Enrique came with a spectaculair opening. The party really started. I think Enrique is technically not one of the best singers, but he sang everything live. I have great respect for that. During the whole concert you could see that Enrique really loves his fans. Instead of changing outfits he used his moments of ‘rest’ to spend time with his fans, like shaking hands, taking pictures, accepting gifts and using the whole stage. There also was a great ligthshow, fire, fireworks, confetti and even balloons which came out of the ceiling. Lots of artists can learn from this concert. Pay attention to your fans and throw a party.
Conclusion, it was a great concert with so many hits.
Enrique sure knows how to fiesta J
Special thanks to Jim Bakkum and Tim van Rongen (Masterpiece Management)
Pictures not made by me. Found them on Google.
